It may be forgotten by now, but when in the early 70’s at least, anyone hiking up to a manned or womaned tower become eligible to get their Squirrel Card which meant you were now a member of the “Ancient and Honorable Order of Squirrels” I got mine from the woman manning Nordhoff Tower named Harriet who lived up there. I remain a “Squirrel” to this day.
